Carnaby Street

The Pearl of London Soho Residential district Carnaby Street is a paradise for tourist shopping and a very colorful place. In 60s this street became the center of informal youth streams and independent fashion. Carnaby Street is the birthplace of low-rise trousers and of colorful men shirts. Their invention is attributed to the designer John Stephen. Only here you could buy the first mini-skirts, designed by the English designer Mary Quant. It was possible to meet celebrities on Carnaby Street at any time of the day or night. The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones gave concerts here. Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney walked through the trendy shops or ran for a cup of coffee to one of the popular venues like music bar «Roaring Twenties».
